My education profession began in the mid-1990's as a classroom teacher in the Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. Experience and opportunity led me to instructional coaching and leadership positions with a research-based program founded at Johns Hopkins University and opportunities to collaborate with educators nationally. And, in 2005, I grounded myself back in Texas where I completed my PhD in Education: School Improvement at Texas State University and continued to live in the space of instructional coaching while working at The University of Texas at Austin.
Today, I continue to follow my passion: Engaging with others, learning all of the time, and advocating for voices and perspectives to be heard. As Thoreau said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined." What I'm doing is the life I've imagined!
Meet the Team
We are curious, compassionate, courageous, and service-oriented individuals. We are teachers, leaders, authors, and researchers who each bring a diverse set of experiences and skills to conversations and pride ourselves in being present when engaged with others. We are questioners, listeners, and thought providers who aim to give voice, build community, and create space for individuals to contribute. We acknowledge others as equal partners and allow for the exchange of ideas from many individuals that results in infinite possibilities. We provide differentiated, sustained professional learning and support that maximizes each individual’s skills and knowledge and focuses on enhancing student learning and/or achievement or organizational goals. We create positive relationships where individuals feel valued and, more importantly, heard.
